Egg-Plants[1] are flowers that are found in the Yoshi franchise. These flowers normally spit out normal Yoshi Eggs, and are very common and appear in almost every level in their respective games. They spit out Yoshi Eggs one at a time, but if a YoshiGround Pounds near one, the plant will either shoot out several at once or start shooting them out more quickly. The Yoshi can also lick the eggs to catch them. Since the Yoshi can only carry six eggs each, the Egg-Plant won't produce more eggs anymore until the Yoshi uses one of the Yoshi Eggs on something. The Egg-Plant's name comes from the eggplant, a type of fruit. It also shares its name with a type of nightshade (hence the appearance). Some Egg-Plants known as Sanbo Flowers will spit out Needlenoses, but as long as a Yoshi has six eggs, it can't spit any out. There are four of these plants in the Island Museum. They can be viewed in the botanical enemy exhibit. An unused variaton that spits out Bubbles was intended to appear, but was removed for unknown reasons.[2] Like the Bull's-Eye Bill, it is fully functional. An Egg-Plant appears in the Super Mario-Kun volume 14, where it helps Mario, Yoshi, and Luigi by providing eggs in their fight against Burt the Bashful. In Yoshi's Woolly World and Poochy & Yoshi's Woolly World, Egg-Plants are knitted, and in replacement for eggs, they shoot out Yarn Balls of multiple colors. Egg-Plants appear less frequently in the game, with only a few appearances, including the Bonus Game. Notably, the game does not feature the variation that spits out Needlenoses due to the fact that they were replaced by Pokey Poms. Egg-Plants reappear in Yoshi's Crafted World. Gallery[edit]

Several new Piranha Plants also appear, such as Polterpiranhas, Bungee Piranhas and Nipper Dandelions, along with a Piranha Plant boss named Big.
Yoshi's Island Piranha Plant Boss 2
Lava Piranha is an enormous Piranha Plant boss in Paper Mario who, as its name suggests, dwells in a pool of lava. Lava Piranha bears some resemblance to the boss Naval Piranha from Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island, except smaller and with fewer buds and tendrils. Lava Piranha has a large tongue and white ring markings instead of filled white spots on its head, like typical Piranha Plants. Goombario and Koopa Koot refer to Lava Piranha in plural terms, suggesting there is more than one Lava Piranha in existence. Given its Japanese name, this is likely referring to Fire Piranha Plants.[1] History[edit]The Lava Piranha featured in Paper Mario is the ruler of Mt. Lavalava on Lavalava Island. It is found in a small lava pool where the other Piranha Plants report to him. Lava Piranha speaks in shouts and shrieks, blathering out insults at Mario when it confronts him for the fifth Star Spirit, Misstar, whom Bowser ordered the fiery Piranha Plant to guard. If Yoshi makes it to the (followed by a ), Kamek will fly in for the last time in the area and look at Yoshi grimly. The hallway inside the castle consists of four areas to choose from (doors on a roulette wheel). Also occasionally flies in during this time, trying to knock Yoshi out of the sky. Yoshis island prince froggys fort. Four doors which are numbered 1, 2, 3 and 4 spin on the wheel, and Yoshi must hit one with a, which will then drop to the floor and allow him to progress.Door 1 Door 1 contains, and lava pits.Door 2 Door 2 includes nearly every species, and at the end of that area is a door containing a, who holds the key to another door that leads to the final room.Door 3 Door 3 is notable for the appearance of, where he chases Yoshi through a lava-filled cave path that autoscrolls. Along the way, Yoshi must avoid the; crashing into them causes him to fall (usually leading to losing a life). The 'Castle Boss' music plays in this area, but in the GBA version, the 'Room Before Boss' music plays instead. Its attacks are rather simple. Most of its attacking is done via Lava Buds, which can spit out Petit Piranhas. When it attacks, it spits out an orb of fire at Mario that does five attack damage to Mario. After Mario initially defeats Lava Piranha, it suddenly emerges from the lava and gets forty more HP. This time, Lava Piranha's head is on fire and its tongue is sticking out. If Sushie is Ultra-rank, her Tidal Wave ability stuns Lava Piranha for two full turns. After the second round, it slowly falls to the ground and then sinks back into the lava, relinquishing the Star Spirit. It has a cameo appearance in the credits of Paper Mario, poking its head out from behind Lavalava Island, alternating with Raphael Raven. In Super Mario-Kun, the Lava Piranha is encountered after Sushie destroys a Spiny Tromp. Mario and his partners attempt to attack it by using a Snowman Doll, but it results in Kooper getting crushed. The Lava Piranha then spews Lava Buds that attack Mario and his partners. Sushie then encases Mario in Water Block and squirts Lava Piranha. Mario walks out of the water block and shouts, distracting Sushie. Lava Piranha then burns and injures Sushie. Despite this, Sushie inflates Mario with water and pushes him to Lava Piranha. Mario bursts, spraying the water over Lava Piranha and thus defeating it. Island title corporation.
